Today, I have an upcoming Darling Girl collection to share with you! The Double Feature contains not one, but two sets, each of which is based on an unconventional Christmas movie. Each set consists of four eyeshadows and a lippie, plus an additional full-set exclusive shadow.
All swatches were done using a dry brush, and from left to right, are on bare skin, over primer, then over primer and Darling Girl Glitta Grip. The first movie in this double feature is Love, Actually. While I’m not really a romance kinda gal, I’ve seen this movie a couple times and find it cute and amusing.
To Me, You Are Perfect, a silvered gold foil finish
OMG, It’s Rick Grimes (full set exclusive), a sparkling champagne with a green opalescence
Love Actually is All Around, a pale and sparkling lavender with a slight blue opalescence
The Total Agony Of Being In Love, a bright matte lilac
Let’s Go Get the Shit Kicked out of us By Love, a warm, rich purple with red sparks
All I Want For Christmas – a warm, brown balm gloss
The second movie featured is Die Hard. Now, this is more my type of movie, and is one I watch every holiday season.
Why Does This Keep Happening To Us?, a carnation pink foil
Yippee-Ki-Yay Mutherf*cker, a slightly muted matte mustard
The Detonators, a metallic orange-gold with purple sparks
HO-HO-HO, a matte brown-toned red
A Very Alan Rickman Christmas (full set exclusive), a metallic blue with silver and purple sparkles
Giant Teddy Bear – a warm brown Pucker Paint with a red overlay
Here are a couple looks I did using both sets.

All I Want For Christmas Balm Gloss
Here are both lip products together. I switched the lippies because the red sheen in Giant Teddy Bear gives it a pink cast on me that I really like paired with the purple tones of the Love, Actually set, particularly the red sparks in Let’s Go Get the Shit Kicked Out of Us By Love. I wanted the overall look to be soft and romantic. I also felt the high shine of the balm gloss lent a little edge to my Die Hard look.
Overall, I really like both sets, and I’ve always loved Susan’s penchant for risqué names. I try to keep it clean so my blog and social media appeal to everyone, but in real life, I have a dirty mouth and a mind to match. I also love that this collection is as unconventional as the Christmas movies it pays homage to. I’m impressed that it doesn’t contain the typical red lippie that appears in most collections this time of year. A gold is pretty standard, but the foil finish and touch of silver of To Me, You Are Perfect takes that standard over the top. Its finish is probably the most highly metallic of any I own, and it is a stunner. I love that the sets work well together, and that they include matte shades, for a complete look.
If you know me, I’m sure you’ve already guessed that the color I’m most drawn to is A Very Alan Rickman Christmas. I was a decades-long fan of the actor, and I love this tribute and the fact that he was in both movies. This blue is striking in its own right, but to have it in a holiday collection just makes my heart happy.
These mini collections will be released on December 1st. Feel free to use code koolklawz8 to save 8% on your next order. You can find Darling Girl Cosmetics here.
