I’m back and sharing a gift from a friend and my #MOTD. I’ve made quite a few good friends in my makeup forays, and I’ve decided to highlight and show my gratitude for some of these beautiful souls and their amazing talents with what I’m calling my Friendship Spotlight. I have the privilege of being surrounded by some of the most kind, creative, and talented artists, who support me as a fledgling makeup enthusiast, and uplift me as a person. Today’s look is courtesy of the beautiful and talented Rae. She gifted me some of her under-loved pretties, and I received three pigments and a face product I’ve been dying to try. Let’s take a look!
Shiro Cosmetics Alkahestry, lavender with blue sparks
Shiro Cosmetics Have a Biscuit, Potter, forest green with a gold overlay
Fyrinnae Arcane Magic in Lady Glamis, black filled with copper sparkles
Fyrinnae Hollywood Sorcery Finishing Powder
Aren’t they gorgeous? If I had to pick a favorite, it’d be hard, because these all speak to me, but, I think it’d be Shiro’s Alkahestry. You know I love a multitasker, and I can totally see myself using it as both a shadow and highlighter. I love Shiro’s unique and beautiful color blends. You can see the ones I shared here.
I’d been wanting to try Fyrinnae’s Hollywood Sorcery finishing powder for the longest, but, as always happens when I’m on any makeup site, I get distracted by all the shiny colors. You can see my sparkly obsession with Fyrinnae here. I actually like this powder and the finish it creates. It has some shimmer, so if you want a flat matte finish, I’d try another formula, as Fyrinnae has quite a few. This one is ideal for me. The powder sets my makeup and mattifies my skin, and the shimmer reflects light beautifully, giving my combination-dry skin a healthy glow while keeping my oily bits in check. I did find that it creased a bit under my eyes, and I’ll be checking to see if I can use this powder to bake. I’m really happy, though, with the smooth finish it gives my troubled, textured skin. In this look, I used all four products, and my lip is courtesy of NYX Intens Butter Gloss in Black Cherry Tart.
I’m really grateful to my beautiful friend, and I love her taste…you can find me stalking her page regularly! She’s been truly kind to me, not just with this gift, but her advice and her support in my personal and makeup life has meant so much. I also admire her ability to pick out the perfect colors, which she even managed to do for me. Clearly, her stash is to be admired, and you can see her beautiful work here.
Do you have friends who support you or share your passion? Have you tried any of these products before?
