Happy Memorial Day! Let me start by saying how thankful I am to those who have fought for my freedom, and that I don’t take it for granted.
I’m here with a late-day #MOTD and review of another new-to-me indie brand, Glamour Doll Eyes. I’d heard of them some years ago, but until recently, had been intimidated by loose pigments, so I hadn’t tried them. Well, it appears I’m over that, and picked up a few to try during a sale. There were a few other shades included, but as is my way, I chose those that were most brilliant and therefore more likely to show up on my skin.
FrankenGlamour, kiwi green with a gold flash
Debauchery, sage green with multicolored sparkles. This was a gift with purchase and right up my alley. Because green.
Island Chic, turquoise with gold shimmer.
Sparkler, a pinky peach with silver shimmer.
Super Nova, black matte with multicolored sparkles.
These colors, though! I’ll be grabbing some mattes next time…and there will be a next time. These pigments are very richly saturated, and the colors are just as vibrant on my skin as in the jars. Just look at the swatches…these are just quick and dirty finger swatches on bare skin.Just the slightest tap of the brush to the pigment is all I need, and though they’re so pigmented, they’re easy to blend, though we all know blending isn’t my forte. The other thing that impresses me is the sparkle and shimmer…just look at the sparkles in Super Nova. Yaaassss.
Here’s a look I did using a few of the colors I grabbed.
Debauchery – lid, lower lash line
Island Chic – outer lid
FrankenGlamour – inner lid, lower lash line
Super Nova – outer corner, foiled as liner using Apocalyptic Beauty Cosmetic Alchemy
LA Splash UD Brow in Dhalia
NYX Mineral Stick Foundation in a Warm Almond
NYX HD Photogenic Concealer Wand in Nutmeg
Milani Prep+Set+Go Transparent Face Powder
Notoriously Morbid Gimme Some Sugar (May VC) as highlighter
Notoriously Morbid This Is My Boomstick! (May Mystic Monthly)
Notoriously Morbid Wendigo Changeling Top Coat
So, I’m really liking my new pigments, and will be purchasing from Glamour Doll Eyes again. They also offer a monthly subscription, but I’m currently trying to pare down my subs, since I’ve finally built up a halfway decent stash. It’s my understanding that the waitlist is months long, so maybe I’ll change my mind in the future. In the meantime, I do see a few colors I definitely plan on grabbing.
