Glossybox June 2017: What’s in the Box?

Hi, all!

I’ve played around with this month’s products from Glossybox, and I’m here to share my findings…here we go!

The Crème Shop The OMG Brush

I was excited to see this brush, but not as impressed with its quality. It’s very soft, but the bristles aren’t as plush as I prefer. On the bright side, it doesn’t take as long for this brush to dry, it doesn’t shed, and it doesn’t soak up product. On the other hand, it doesn’t provide as smooth a finish and using it just takes more work than my similar brushes. Perhaps I could see picking one up at the nearest Target during a travel emergency, but it wouldn’t be included in my normal rotation.

Julep Color Treat Nail Polish

I really like the color, Carolyn (my mama’s name!), which I’d describe as a bright pastel peach. It’s a great summer color and one I’m likely to wear, since my toes are generally some bright shade of orange or pink during the summer months. I’m never keen on getting polish, because I have so much (over 1000 bottles, at last count), including several dozen bottles of Julep from a long-ago subscription. Thankfully, this isn’t a dupe, though I have one that’s very similar, Kaylen.

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil

This oil was formerly called The Nourisher, and I see why. My skin feels so soft, even hours after I’ve used it. At $72 for a full-size bottle, it’s out of my price range, but I’ve added it to my wishlist. It immediately improved the texture issues I deal with, and the results don’t disappear after an hour or two…they last!

Bang Beauty Cream Color in Dolce Pink

This cream could have been so good. It’s just not my color. You know I love a multipurpose product, and this stick is good for eyes, lips, and cheeks. It’s a frosty pink that I would only be able to use as a topper on my lips or a highlighter on my cheeks or the inner corners of my eyes. Sadly, I can’t use it as a one-and-done product, and it makes me sad, because I love the formula. It’s creamy, but not greasy, and feels powder-soft when blended out. Once again, what on earth is the point of making us fill out profiles if our coloring won’t be taken into account? Grrr…

Talika Photo-Hydra Day

This moisturizer feels incredible. It’s perfect for my mostly dry, but acne-prone skin. It’s heavier than the average watery moisturizer, but not greasy, so it keeps my dry patches under control without breaking me out. This is my new favorite moisturizer for summer, since it provides adequate moisture without feeling heavy, oily, or sticky on a hot summer day.

Overall, I’m enjoying this month’s Glossybox. There are some things I wish they’d fix, but the products and value are excellent. The oil and moisturizer are both standouts, for me, and if I could, I’d buy both of them in a heartbeat. The brush and polish were good, but not all that exciting, and I was sorely disappointed with the cream stick, because it’s something I’d have used if it was a more fitting color. Mostly, they got it right, though. If you’d like to know more about Glossybox, you can check it out here.

Have you tried any of these products before? What would you be most likely to try?
