Indie Love and Inspiration: Mermaid Makeup

Hi, all!

I’m dropping in with a quick post about a look I recently did. I’m doing my nails again for the first time in a long while, and it feels good to enjoy something I love again. I was inspired to do this look by this beautiful polish I was gifted. This is Vodka & Vicodin, by The Don Deeva. Look at that insane duochrome shift! It so happens I’ve had a lippie for weeks, and noticed it’s the same color and has that same blue-to-purple shift. Immediately, mermaids sprang to mind. This is Galaxy, a lip composite from Who is She Cosmetics. So, I pulled out my Devinah Cosmetics palette for an indie love fest and an attempt at a mermaid(-ish) look. I used some matte shades, but made my focal point the duochromes. I also used a blush by a new favorite, Notoriously Morbid Cosmetics. My looks don’t always turn out as planned, but I think I actually captured the feel I was looking for. Shoutout to all the indies who toil to create these beautiful colors and finishes, who often go unnoticed, and who spend sleepless nights crafting these high-quality, handcrafted products that make us happy and feel beautiful.
