Indie Love: Prince Tribute #MOTD

Hi, all!

Today, I’m sharing a look I did in tribute to Prince, using mostly indies, some new-to-me, and some old favorites. I’ve been a Prince fan since age 7, way before I was old enough to listen to one of his albums…and yes – they were albums back then, haha. My first full album of his was Purple Rain (it was purple!), and my friends and I lied to our parents about a sleepover, and snuck off to see him in concert my freshman year of high school (sorry, Mom!). It was after that concert that I bought everything Prince I could get my hands on, with the exception of assless chaps. 🙂 Prince’s birthday is the day after mine, so though I was a little tired from celebrating, I turned on my local station for Prince all day long and purped it out with this look, in which I featured Devinah Cosmetics eyeshadows, as well as Coloured Raine Raine Fever lipstick, because Purple Rain. 💜

Devinah Cosmetics shadows:

Bambi – base
Nemesis – crease, outer corner
Desma – transition
Purple Kush – outer lid, lower lash line
Charmed – inner lid, lower lash line

Other products used:

Dirty Glam Cosmetics Dirty Luster Dust shadow/highlighter in Euphoric
Coloured Raine Matte Lip Paint in Raine Fever (with Euphoric patted on top)
Fyrinnae Cosmetics blush in Royalty
L.A. Girl Glide gel eyeliner pencil in Paradise Purple
LASplash UD Brow in Dhalia
Ciaté London Fierce Flicks precision tip liquid liner
NYX HD Photogenic Concealer Wand in Nutmeg
Doucce Maxlash Volumizer Mascara
Milani Make It Last setting spray
Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer in Chestnut

So, I hope you liked my tribute. I enjoyed wearing it, and even ran into a couple of people who got it immediately. Maybe next year I’ll be good enough to go for a full-on editorial look, complete with the symbol. Until then, I’ll keep practicing.

Are you a Prince fan? Do you have any Prince memories to share?

Thanks for reading!
