I hope you had a great weekend! Today, I’m sharing Notoriously Morbid‘s June Mystic Monthly. In case you’re not familiar, the Mystic Monthly is a subscription that includes a full size Mystic Matte liquid lipstick and one other product. It’s priced at $10 USD per month shipped domestically, and is available internationally at a slightly higher price. Let’s check it out!
This month’s Mystic Matte is Kikimora, named for a house spirit in Slavic mythology. It is described as having a dark olive brown base, with purple and pink shimmer and blue sheen. I describe it as purple-brown-gray, because those are the colors that show up on me. It makes a nice neutral for me, and seems to lean more toward one color than another, depending on what I’m wearing. It’s a bit of a chameleon, and I like that.
Also included is a Night Kiss lip balm in the flavor Bedrock Betty, which smells exactly like orange sherbet…yum! This is a scent from the upcoming fall collection of a Night Kiss balms, and includes a hint as to the theme. Let me tell you, if this is an all Flintstones themed collection, it will be mine. I won’t even need them all, because I already have enough lip balms for the rest of the year, but I will have them. Because Flintstones. Or anything Hanna Barbera, for that matter. I’m a woman of a particular age, and these are the cartoons I remember from my childhood. I’d watch them every Saturday morning, cross-legged on the floor in front of the TV with a bowl of cereal. You know, back when I could get off the floor. 🙂
Here I am wearing Kikimora on a Saturday morning breakfast date with my little. She always fusses that my makeup is too bright, but (shockingly) didn’t have anything negative to say about this look. I’m also using some of the pretties from my birthday haul.
Strange and Offputting – crease
18th Century Dandy – inner lid, lower lash line
Miniwashitu – outer corner
Unicorn Horn – inner corner
Lips – Kikimora
Blush – Music Box
Highlighter – Power of the Fae
My liner is Juvia’s Place The Saharan gel liner in brown
This lippie has the same thin, comfortable formula I’m used to from the Mystic Mattes. In all, I’m very happy with this round of the Mystic Monthly. I love the lip balm flavor, and am anxiously awaiting the rest of the collection. You can find out more about the Notoriously Morbid Mystic Monthly subscription here, and you can find any available overstock from previous Mystic Monthly and Vanishing Cabinet boxes here.
Is Kikimora a color you’d wear? What were your favorite childhood cartoons?
Thanks for reading!
